Infant King

Should it not be I who is humbled before You?
Should it not be I born in poverty awaiting Your Kingdom?
Should it not be I who seeks heaven’s rejoicing?

Is it not You who is King of all creation?
Is it not You who created me in Your likeness?
Is it not You who authored love and life?

Yet it is You who became like me
Yet it is You who humbly bore my poverty
Yet it is You who modeled love to give me life

It is, then, my duty to offer You praise
It is, then, my exaltation to obey Your commands
It is, then, my salvation to follow Your will

May I forever be humbled by Your presence
May I forever be impoverished for Your Word
May I forever be joy-filled in Your love

O Infant King teach me!
O Infant King guide me!
O Infant King fill me!

  1. Jesus was born in a lowly manger to uplift the lowly and cast down the proud of heart. His kingdom is not of this world.
