Now therefore, O kings, be wise … Serve the Lord with fear and trembling, Rejoice. Blessed are all who take refuge in the Lord.
In his Rule for monastic life, St. Benedict speaks of welcoming guests as a means of serving Christ. Importantly, it is not about being Christ to others, but receiving Christ whom we serve. “Great care and concern are to be shown in receiving poor people and pilgrims, because in them more particularly Christ is received.” (Chapter 53, V15).
Serving others serves Christ. Rejoice and be blessed!
Receiving Christ in the poor…
I am all over that like white on rice.
Thanx for saying that.
