Hallowed be Thy Name: Poetic Reflections on the Lord’s Prayer (3)

For I know
God is God
And I am not
Yet I ask that Your name
Be holy

Why must I ask what is already true?

In reverence and awe
In mystery and adoration
In thanksgiving and praise
In all things near and close
In all things God

You remain the One Holy and True

  1. Prayer isn’t always about asking, even as your poem shows. For in it we worship by declaring the truth of who God is…the awesome Holy One. Thank you for sharing a beautiful reflection.
