Prayer for My Enemies based on Matthew 5:44-45

Lord Jesus, you gained your kingship through a humble birth—a child with a manger for a throne, a stable for a castle. You came to gather, not scatter. You reign with kindness, love and mercy and ask me to love and pray for those who persecute me. I humbly pray for those that scatter, sowing hate and intolerance with violence and fear. I beg that in your sunrise and in the rain that falls, you change hearts of stone to ones of flesh. And change my heart Jesus, so that I can be the son of my Father in heaven; place your Spirit in my midst. King of kings, give me the grace to live in your love and peace. Amen
