Lord, let me be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger; for I know anger does not produce Your righteousness. Prepare my heart to welcome with meekness Your implanted Word, that has the power to save my soul. May I be a doer of Your Word, and not merely a hearer. In hearing only, I may forget; but as a doer, I will be blessed. As I study Your perfect law and persevere in action, Your blessings will follow. Erase my selfish pride so that I may have a humble faith, one which is pure and undefiled before You, God, my Father. And may all my actions in faith give glory to you in the name of Your Son, my Lord, Jesus Christ.
